Visual Visitor does not have a
native Constant Contact connector, but you can automate lead delivery to
Constant Contact lists using Zapier as a middleware. This is the recommended
approach for customers who want to nurture identified visitors through Constant
Contact email sequences.
Setup steps
1. In Visual Visitor, go to Configuration > Webhook and copy your
webhook URL, or use the built-in Zapier connector if available on your plan.
2. In Zapier, create a new Zap. Set the Trigger to Catch Hook (Webhooks
by Zapier) and paste the URL into Visual Visitor's webhook endpoint field.
3. Test the trigger by clicking Test Webhook in Visual Visitor and
capture a sample payload in Zapier.
4. Add an Action step: choose Constant Contact and select Create or
Update Contact.
5. Map the Visual Visitor fields (email, first name, last name) to the
corresponding Constant Contact fields.
6. Assign the contact to the appropriate Constant Contact list.
7. Turn on the Zap.
Preventing duplicate contacts: Use Zapier's Find or Create Contact
pattern for Constant Contact instead of a bare Create Contact action. This
checks if the email already exists before creating a new record, preventing
duplicate entries when the same visitor returns to your site multiple times.
Engagement score filtering: To send only engaged visitors to Constant
Contact (not every identified visitor), add a Zapier Filter step before the
Constant Contact action. Set the filter to only continue if the Visual Visitor page visits above a threshold (e.g., 2 or higher).

The page threshold will be found under: Notification Rules - Real Time Alerts (pages of your website)
API rate limits: Constant Contact enforces rate limits on its API. If your Zapier
integration is timing out or erroring, add a Delay step of 1-2 seconds between
the webhook trigger and the Constant Contact action to prevent throttling.
