How to Set Up a White Label Portal with Custom DNS and SSL

Setting Up a White-Label Portal

A white-label Visual Visitor portal allows your clients to access the platform using your branded domain (for example, visitors.youragency.com) instead of the Visual Visitor domain. This setup requires DNS configuration and SSL certificate provisioning.

Step 1 - Choose Your Subdomain

Select the subdomain you would like to use for your portal, some examples:

  • visitors.youragency.com
  • webid.youragency.com
  • leads.youragency.com

Send the chosen subdomain to the Visual Visitor team to begin the provisioning process.

Step 2 - Configure DNS Records

In your domain registrar or DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, Squarespace, etc.), add the following records:

CNAME Record

Create a CNAME record for your chosen subdomain.

  • Host: Your subdomain
  • Points To: The destination value provided by Visual Visitor

SPF TXT Record

Add the TXT/SPF record provided by Visual Visitor to authenticate outbound email alerts sent from your branded portal.

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, although most providers complete propagation within a few hours.

Step 3 - SSL Certificate Provisioning

Once DNS propagation is confirmed, Visual Visitor will automatically provision an SSL certificate for your subdomain.

Alert
Do not direct clients to the HTTPS version of the portal until SSL provisioning has been completed successfully.

Step 4 - Configure Branding

After the portal is live, customize your branding under:

Reseller Settings → Branding

Available branding options include:

  • Uploading your company logo
  • Setting brand colors
  • Customizing the sender name used in automated emails

Important Note About Facebook and Google Ads Connectors

Notes
The Facebook and Google Ads integrations cannot be fully white-labeled.

During the OAuth authentication process, users will still see the Visual Visitor name within the authorization flow. This behavior is controlled by Facebook and Google and cannot be customized.
