Step 2: Ask the AI Assistant for a
Campaign Plan
Before creating anything in Meta, ask the AI assistant to
propose a campaign structure. This helps you review the objective, audience,
creative angle, budget, and measurement plan before any changes are made.
Suggested prompt:
Using the connected Meta Ads
account, recommend a campaign structure for this Visual Visitor Person Level
Ads audience. Include campaign objective, ad sets, budget suggestion, targeting
approach, creative angles, and success metrics. Do not create anything yet.
Step 3: Review the Plan
Review the suggested campaign plan before approving
action. Confirm that the objective, budget, audience, geography, and messaging
match your goals.
Check for:
- Correct brand or business unit.
- Correct Meta ad account.
- Correct geography.
- Correct campaign objective.
- Appropriate daily or lifetime
budget.
- Approved ad copy and creative
direction.
- Proper tracking and conversion
events.
Meta
campaign type note: Always use Traffic Ads for Person Level Ads campaigns.
Lead Generation Ads keep users inside
Facebook, which prevents the
click-through tracking that makes PLA data useful. If the AI recommends a
Lead Gen
objective, override it.
|
Step 4: Create the Campaign
Once the plan looks correct, ask the AI assistant to
create the campaign. Meta's connector supports creating and editing ads, ad
sets, and campaigns, but actions require authorization through the AI agent.
Suggested prompt:
Create this campaign in Meta
Ads using the approved structure below. Pause the campaign after creation so I
can review it in Ads Manager before launch.
[Paste the approved campaign structure]
Open Meta Ads Manager and review the campaign before
launch. Make sure the campaign, ad sets, ads, creative, destination URLs,
tracking, and budget are correct.
Recommended checks:
- Campaign status is paused until
approved.
- Campaign objective is correct.
- Pixel or conversion event is
correct.
- Destination URL is correct.
- UTMs are included.
- Creative matches the offer.
- Audience and geography are
correct.
- Budget and schedule are correct.
Step 6: Launch or Approve Changes
After reviewing the campaign in Meta Ads Manager, either
launch it manually or ask your AI assistant to activate it if your organization
allows AI-assisted campaign activation. Any action should be reviewed before
approval.
Suggested prompt:
The campaign has been
reviewed and approved. Activate the campaign named [campaign name]. Do not
change the budget, audience, creative, or schedule.
Example Prompts
Use these prompts with ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity
after you connect the Meta ads MCP server.
Create a Campaign From a Person
Level Ads Segment
Create a Facebook and
Instagram campaign plan for a Visual Visitor Person Level Ads segment made up
of high-intent website visitors who visited our demo page in the last 30 days.
Recommend the campaign objective, ad set structure, creative angles, budget
range, and KPIs. Do not create the campaign yet.
Analyze our Meta campaigns
from the last 30 days. Identify which campaigns are generating the strongest
engagement from high-intent website visitors and which campaigns should be
paused, adjusted, or tested further.
Improve Ad Copy
Review the current ads in
our connected Meta account and suggest three new ad variations for a Person
Level Ads audience of repeat visitors who viewed product pages but did not
convert.
Diagnose Tracking and Signals
Check signal quality for our
Meta ad account and identify any issues that could affect retargeting,
attribution, or campaign optimization.
Create a Weekly Optimization
Summary
Create a weekly summary of
Meta ad performance. Include spend, leads, cost per lead, top campaigns,
underperforming campaigns, and recommended next actions for
our Person Level
Ads audiences.
Best Practices:
- Start with a plan first: Ask the AI assistant to recommend a campaign structure before
creating or editing campaigns.
- Use paused drafts: When possible, ask the assistant to create campaigns in paused
status so your team can review them in Ads Manager.
- Use clear audience names: Name Visual Visitor Person Level Ads audiences in a way that
makes campaign reporting easy to understand
- Add UTMs: Use
consistent UTM parameters so you can compare Meta campaign traffic against
Visual Visitor and CRM outcomes.
- Review every action: Approve campaign creation, budget changes, and launches only
after reviewing the details.
- Connect ad data to lead quality: Do not optimize only for clicks or form fills. Compare
campaigns against qualified visitors, known contacts, demos, opportunities, and
revenue.
Suggested Naming Convention
Use a consistent naming convention so AI-assisted
reporting is easier.
VV PLA | [Audience] |
[Offer] | [Geo] | [Date]
Examples:
VV PLA | Pricing Visitors |
Demo Offer | US | 2026-05
VV PLA | Target Accounts | Franchise Growth Guide | US | 2026-05
VV PLA | Repeat Visitors | Retargeting | Southeast | 2026-05
Naming
restriction: Avoid financial terms (income, net
worth), demographic descriptors (age groups, race), or family status
indicators in custom audience names; Meta's terms prohibit these, and the
audience upload will fail.

Common Issues
Meta says the ads AI connectors are in open beta, and
users may not have access to the feature yet. If the connector is not
available, check whether your AI tool supports remote MCP servers and whether
your Meta account has access to the beta.
The AI Assistant Cannot Access the
Right Ad Account
Make sure you authenticated with the correct Meta user and
selected the correct business portfolio or ad account. If you work with
multiple Meta ad accounts, confirm the ad account ID before asking the
assistant to create or edit anything.
The AI Assistant Suggests the
Wrong Budget
Ask the assistant to explain the budget recommendation
before approving any change. You can also set hard limits in the prompt, such
as "do not recommend more than $50 per day" or "do not change
any live campaign budgets."
The Campaign Was Created but
Should Not Launch Yet
Ask the assistant to create campaigns in paused status.
Then review the campaign in Meta Ads Manager before launch.
Suggested prompt:
Create the campaign in
paused status only. Do not activate it until I explicitly approve launch.
Reporting Does Not Match Visual
Visitor or CRM Data
Meta reporting, Visual Visitor visitor intelligence, and
CRM outcomes may measure different parts of the funnel. Use UTMs, consistent
campaign names, and CRM source fields to connect ad performance to person-level
visitor quality and sales outcomes.
Security and Approval Guidelines
Treat AI-assisted ad management like giving a team member
access to your ad account. Meta says the connector can pull information and
perform actions, and any actions require user authorization through the AI
agent.
Recommended guardrails:
- Require human approval before
launching campaigns.
- Require human approval before
increasing budgets.
- Require human approval before
editing live campaigns.
- Limit access to authorized users.
- Avoid pasting sensitive customer
data into prompts unless your organization has approved that workflow.
- Keep a record of approved changes.
