Visual Visitor
allows you to export visitor and contact data in several formats for use in
CRMs, spreadsheets, and other tools. If the export feature is returning an
error or producing unexpected results, this article covers the most common
causes and solutions.
Types of Exports Available
· Query Export: Allows you to
filter and export visitor data based on specific criteria (date range, company,
source, etc.). Found in the Data Export or Reports section of your dashboard.
· Direct Export: A one-click
export option available from certain report views.
· Person-Level
Ads Export: Specific to PLA campaigns; exports audience data for upload to
Google or Meta ad platforms.
· CSV / Excel
export: Standard file formats for most exports.
Common
Export Errors and Fixes
1. Check your
browser: Export functions may be blocked by certain browser extensions
(especially ad blockers or popup blockers). Try the export in a different
browser or temporarily disable extensions.
2. Verify the date
range: Very large date ranges can time out. Try narrowing the date range
and exporting in smaller batches.
3. Clear your
browser cache: A cached session state can sometimes interfere with file
generation.
4. Confirm your
plan supports export: Some plan tiers or trial accounts have export restrictions.
Contact support to verify.
Export file is empty or missing data:
1. Verify that
data exists for the selected filter criteria. Run the same filter as a
dashboard view first to confirm there are records before exporting.
2. Check the
account-level date filter. Ensure you are not filtering to a period outside your data
retention window. See the article "How long is your Lead Data stored"
for retention periods.
3. For direct
exports of already-saved contacts: exporting contacts you have already unlocked
does not cost additional credits and should always work. If it fails, contact
support.
· If you need a specific format (CSV vs. Excel), check the export
options dialog for format selection before downloading.
· Your account name.
· The type of export you are attempting.
· A screenshot of the error message (if one appears).
· The filter criteria you are using.
