In our legacy B2B platform, there is no way to filter out bot-generated traffic. Because of this, certain marketing activities may cause unexpected spikes in your website hits.
When you launch a marketing effort, such as sending a mass email campaign or making changes to your website, automated security bots may scan the content. This is normal behavior and not typically a negative indicator.
Many email providers and security tools use bots to verify that a message is safe for the recipient. These bots quickly scan the email’s images, text, and links before the message is delivered.
If any of those links point to your website, the bot will briefly “visit” those URLs. This can appear in your platform as unusual or high-volume traffic.
You may see spikes in traffic shortly after sending mass emails.
These hits may look inconsistent with typical visitor behavior.
This does not mean your email or website is unsafe; it’s often a sign that recipient systems are validating your content.
Bot traffic is a normal part of digital marketing and email security. While our legacy platform cannot filter out these automated visits, understanding this behavior can help you interpret your data more accurately.
