Credit Card Update Not Saving: Spinner Freezes on Payment Update Screen

Some customers encounter an issue where the payment update screen appears to accept new credit card information but then stalls — the spinner keeps turning and the new card is never saved. This is typically caused by a browser-side conflict rather than a platform problem.

Common Causes

  1. Browser autofill interfering with the payment form fields.
  2. A browser extension (particularly ad blockers, script blockers, or password managers) blocking the payment processor's scripts.
  3. An outdated browser or cached page state preventing the form from submitting.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Disable autofill.

Go to your browser settings and temporarily disable the autofill / password autofill feature. Re-enter your card information manually from scratch without letting autofill populate any field.

2. Try a different browser.

Open the payment update page in a different browser (e.g., switch from Chrome to Firefox or Edge). This quickly rules out browser-specific extension conflicts.

3. Use a private/incognito window.

Open an incognito or private browsing window (which disables most extensions) and try updating the card there. If it works in incognito, a browser extension is the cause.

4. Clear browser cache and cookies.

Cached payment form data can cause submission failures. Clear your cache and reload the page before re-entering the card details.

5. Contact support for manual card entry.

If none of the above resolves the issue, contact support at support@visualvisitor.com or call the support number.

Notes
The team can securely enter the new card information on your behalf. Have the following ready: card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing ZIP code.

Failed Payment Emails

If you received an email stating your account could not be charged:

  1. Verify the card on file matches your current card (the email will reference the last four digits of the card being attempted).
  2. Update the payment method using the steps above.
  3. If the billing cycle has already passed, the charge will be re-attempted once the new card is saved.
